Hi, I’m Ariana

Nice to (virtually) meet you! I am 37 (almost) and from Houston, TX. I have a hubs, 2 young kiddos, 2 old dogs, live in the suburbs and work in corporate for my day job. Yes, this is me & I’ll find a real picture soon…maybe (you’ll see me on video anyway!)

Ariana’s dollhouse origin story is…

I have dabbled in many, many crafts for as long as I can remember. I was trying to find my "thing." I eventually accepted the fact that I would “not find my true joy craft”. My mom loved quilting and I wanted to have a love a craft too! Nothing seemed to stick though!

Then, about 10 months ago I discovered the world of miniatures and fell in love. I also love that I can create the tiny things using ALL of the crafts I have dabbled in, in the past, like paper crafts!

Origami, cutting, gluing, etc.

I am still learning as dollhousing is pretty new (10 months) to me! I like to build the miniature furniture for them. 1:24th scale is my favorite. I love making the furniture and décor. I am not so much into pretend play though.

I love making the furniture because it fills a gap in my heart. I have nostalgic childhood memories of doing woodwork with my stepdad. He did full size, but I don't have that strength, money or space! Most of what I have done from a miniature perspective is build it. Here are some pieces I have made so far.

Well…remember the whole dabbling in a million crafts thing? Back in highschool origami was one of the bigger interests.

I’m not sure exactly how or why, but I started blending the old love of origami and the new love dollhouses together.

It's like they got married and were about to start a family! I wanted the family to grow! I wanted to teach others how to blend these two, beautiful crafts together too. Well they had a baby, my third love (that I don't like to admit for some reason), entrepreneurship. This nostalgia is from my father (I can’t wait to tell you some stories!) My corporate, day job is a good career and has thought me everything I know to be the back-office guru of my husband's business, but not warm fuzees for me.

Now that I have found the fulfillment crafting part of my life, I want to be my own back-office too! Now I get to be the front as well! Maybe one day this thing could steer me away from the "good career" That would be nice, but not the goal.

Thanks for reading. Now go explore!
